Street of Dreams 2016 recap...

As I promised in my last post on the Street of Dreams in Lake Oswego, OR, I want to share with you a few more photos (ok, maybe more than a few!), of the other homes on the tour. The French farmhouse I shared previously was definitely my favorite, but there were things I loved in some of the other homes as well.

One of the things I paid attention to, thinking of my client's future home, was light fixtures. Here are a few of my favorites:

This was in a loft space...loved the natural edge seating bar too.

Loved the elongated lantern style fixture as well as the pendant light...and the rough beams on ceiling.

The ceiling fixture was fun, and I liked the side pendants over the vanity.

I'm just going to show you a few other rooms I liked from various houses...

The stone barn featured at the top of this post came with the last house on the tour, a home with a Tuscan theme. The doors opened to a lovely courtyard. Can't you just picture entertaining in that space? This was the other home that was presold, to a couple with a handful of married children and a number of grandchildren. The home was open and spacious and had such a warm feeling! Wait until you see the pool at the end...hours of fun for those grandkids!

That concludes my little tour of the Street of Dreams 2016 in Lake Oswego, OR. The design features that I noticed are trending in custom homes are: outdoor kitchens and entertaining spaces; free standing tubs in the master baths along with a two person walk in shower; smaller master bedrooms but larger dressing rooms/closet spaces; open concept kitchens with large eating bar; sliding "barn" doors in place of a swing door; a powder room on each floor; and wood look tile in bathrooms.

Following our stay at the charming lakeside inn, my client and I went for a walk in the morning around part of Lake Oswego. We met a lovely lady out walking her dog who actually invited us to walk through her yard so we could get closer to the lake and look around. Thank you, Marta!

And then we ended our walk at the Saint Honore french bakery. I ordered my favorite things...a cappuccino and almond croissant, of course!  Perfect end to a wonderful trip!

So glad to see the sun come back out today here in Lake Stevens! Happy Wednesday! Warmly, Gracia
