A little cabin in Plain...

We just returned from Plain, where you can find me every Friday and Saturday, now that my shop is open. Quite a few of my customers have asked me about the little cabin next door to the shop building so I decided it was time to do a little cabin reveal!

Some of you do know our story...that we were forced to sell a lovely cabin on the Wenatchee River in Plain during the recession. Frankly, it was a hard pill to swallow, since my husband, the builder, and I had poured so much time and energy into this special place, naming it "Hans Olaf Lodge" after both of my Norwegian grandfathers. Our family and friends enjoyed many happy times there and it was hard to let it go...leaving only good memories behind. Though it is not always easy to accept, "The Lord gives and takes away...Blessed be His name." (Job 1:21).

Eventually ,after selling several pieces of property, we were able to purchase a piece of property just down the road from our other place...in a wide open valley, just across the road from the river. The builder husband wanted a smaller place to get away, with a shop for his construction equipment next door. So, he went to work and started building....

Almost there...

And finally...

Yep...significantly smaller than the last cabin, but it has everything you need. We are still making some adjustments with layout of furniture and decor inside so I will post a follow up soon. If you need a little get away in a wee little place, get in touch with us!
