Weekend wandering...

As much as I want to resist it, even the small local gift shops are decorating for Christmas now. Do you remember back in the day when Christmas decorations didn't appear until early December? And it seems unfathomable to think that in many more years past the Christmas tree was not brought in and decorated until Christmas eve!

So, I will admit it.  I gave in. I responded to an invitation from one of my favorite local shops, Ruffles and Rust in Snohomish, to attend their Holiday Open House two days ago. I could try to justify my attendance by saying that I was going to get Christmas decor ideas for my own little shop in Plain, but that would not be the whole truth. As much as I try to honor Thanksgiving in my own home's decor, I find it difficult to resist the lure of seeing the local shops decked out for Christmas. I just love Christmas!

If you are looking for some ideas for your own Christmas decorating, or trying to get your shopping done early so you can actually enjoy the Advent season in December, take an hour and drop in at Ruffles and Rust, a mix of vintage and new.  Here are a few peeks at what is in store for your viewing and shopping pleasure :).

Love the woodland theme...

Love the red and white...

Love the light up house in the background...

Love this sign...

Love the Nordic theme...this little Norwegian runner found it's way home with me:).

Love the Nordic pillow...

There is much more to see, but you will have to see for yourself! But, my biggest hope for you and for me is that we will make the time to rest and rejuvenate this weekend. Sometimes I look at our dog, Oakley, and think to myself...he has it all figured out. He does rest really well!

One of my favorite Psalms is Psalm 91..."Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High,
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty". I am so thankful for our God who actually encourages us to rest...to restore our souls.

Have a wonderful weekend, friends! Looks like the sun will actually make an appearance this weekend too...bonus! I'll leave you with a little music to help you rest and relax from one of my favorite artists...The Piano Guys.
