Love of S'mores...

Now that summer is officially here, I've been stocking up on things we use and foods we like in the summer. When you live by a lake, it's always good to have a supply of sunscreen and beach towels on hand...along with marshmallow skewers. I don't know how, but those always seem to disappear by the end of summer! We love s'mores! It's just such a fun little treat to make at the end of the day, down at the fire pit by the water.

Knowing we would be doing a lot of marshmallow roasting this summer, I made a trek to the grocery store and purchased the necessary (and not so necessary!) S'more ingredients...marshmallows in two sizes, graham crackers, Hershey's chocolate bars...and some Reece's Peanut Butter cups and KitKat bars...just for a something fun to try. Last summer I kept the supplies downstairs in my basement pantry, but this year I decided to keep the supplies out on the front porch. I wanted to make it easier to just grab and go!

Looking through my trays, I found this wooden caddy I had forgotten about and decided it would be perfect! I loved the fact that it had a handle to make it easy to carry.

Then, I put the marshmallows in zip lock bags to keep them fresh once opened and put the rest of the supplies in the caddy as well.

There you have it...bring on the nice evenings like we had this past weekend...and a campfire down by the lake! This is just another thing that says Summer is here to me! Now, if you really feel like being ambitious and bit more gourmet, visit Essentially Josh and get his recipe for homemade graham crackers...something on my Summer to do list for sure! Happy S'more making, friends!
