A Charming French Home...

IMG_2702.JPG

Traveling by train from Paris to south central France last month, I was struck by the charm of the houses with red tile roofs and warm stucco or stone walls. And the amazing thing is that many of the homes are well over 100 years old...sometimes dating back several centuries. In America where we are constantly updating and changing the exterior and interiors of our homes, there is something so refreshing to see the past preserved...homes that blend in with the countryside.

A friend and I had the wonderful opportunity to visit friends who spend part of the year in a lovely home over 200 years old, near the village of Floressas. Having never traveled to this part of France, I was so taken with all the rural villages and narrow, winding roads with fields of grapes on both sides.
