Tulip town...

Home alone on Saturday, I was happy to get a call from a friend inviting me to visit the tulip fields with her daughter and grandsons. Though the morning had been overcast and chilly, the sun had broken through the clouds in the early afternoon. Hoping that by arriving late in the afternoon the crowds would be dissipating, we ventured north towards Skagit Valley.

Perhaps because of the late onset of the sun that day, the tulip fields ...and the roads to get there...were crowded. Still, the tulip fields do not disappoint as they blaze in swaths of color.

Love the bright yellow...

and lovely shades of pink...

Even the white frilly ones...

And the rows of color as far as the eye can see...

I don't think I've ever seen so many people with "selfie" sticks in my life....crazy! To me...the tulips deserve the glory! Christian Dior even said, "After women, flowers are the most lovely thing God has given the world."

I had never been to this particular field before, called "Tulip Town." In addition to the fields, there was a huge building selling fast food items, a gift shop, and rows of blooming tulips in pots. In former years, I've gone to the RoozenGaarde fields...which felt a little less commercialized for some reason. Another friend of mine, Teresa, visited RoozenGaarde on Sunday and allowed me to share some of her beautiful photos below.

Who wouldn't love a meandering path of tulips in their yard every spring?

Or, tulips lining their fence?

The warm colors....

The cool colors....

This beautiful park like setting is just breathtaking...

What an incredible privilege to live near to these fields of springtime beauty! You can't help but feel happy when you are surrounded by all this gorgeous color! Even these young boys had fun running around (yeah, not exactly "tiptoeing through the tulips"!)
